8.5 Clause in ACI: Modules of Elasticity
To calculate the modules of elasticity for concrete you need to know this formula:
Ec = wc1.5 0.043 SQRT(f’c)
Wc is the unit weight of the concrete. If we are using normal concrete so wc = 2400 kg/m3 (24 kN/m3).
F’c is the compression strength for concrete which can be 20, 30, 40 MPa.
And if we draw a graph showing the relation between the concrete strength and the modules of elasticity for both the normal and lightweight concrete it will be like this:
